With two outs in the bottom of the 10th and the game tied, left fielder Nick Buss bashed a ground-rule double to drive in the winning run and provide the walk-off win for Sacramento on Saturday. Buss had 4 hits on the night, scored twice and stole his 7th base. Designated hitter Anthony Aliotti collected 3 doubles, while center fielder Shane Peterson singled, doubled and drove in 2 runs, and right fielder Josh Whitaker had 2 hits and drove in a pair in his second game for Sacramento. Starter Zach Neal allowed 5 runs, 3 earned, on 11 hits over 5 2/3 innings, while rehabbing LHP Eric O’Flaherty tossed a scoreless 7th. RHP Jeremy McBryde surrendered the tying run in the top of the 9th, and RHP Paul Smyth picked up the win after pitching a perfect 10th for the River Cats. With Sacramento first baseman Nate Freiman scratched from Saturday’s lineup and A’s outfielder Josh Reddick likely to hit the disabled list, expect Freiman to get the call to join Oakland in time for Sunday’s game.

After turning in two strong starts, RHP Sean Murphy was a little shaky on Saturday, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits over 5 innings, but he still left with the game tied. RHP Marcus Walden then gave up 1 run in 2 innings of work to take the loss, while RHP Tucker Healy had a rare rough outing, allowing 4 runs in just 1 inning of relief for the RockHounds. Outfielder Billy Burns had 2 hits, walked, scored twice and swiped a pair of bases to bring his league-leading total to 40, while third baseman Max Muncy had 2 hits and drove in a run. Shortstop Addison Russell singled, walked twice and scored a run, and second baseman Hiroyuki Nakajima singled in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

RHP Jake Sanchez, acquired from the White Sox in the Michael Taylor trade, was impressive in his second start for Stockton on Saturday, allowing just 4 hits while walking none and striking out 9 over 7 scoreless innings to earn his 1st win for the Ports. Center fielder Billy McKinney singled, homered and drove in 2 runs, while shortstop Daniel Robertson hit a 2-run homer, and right fielder Herschel Powell singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Ports.

RHP Kyle Finnegan had a rare rough start for the Snappers, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings to take his 5th loss on Saturday. RHP Trevor Bayless gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in 2 innings of relief, and the A’s 11th-round draft pick, RHP Joel Seddon, tossed a scoreless 9th for the Snappers. Second baseman Chih Fang Pan hit his 1st home run, while shortstop Luis Baez hit his 4th round-tripper and committed his 22nd error, and third baseman Matt Chapman went 0 for 4 and stole his 1st base and is now 4 for 19 since joining Beloit.

After not allowing an earned run in his last two starts, RHP Joseph Michaud gave up 4 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings to take his 2nd loss on Saturday. The A’s 10th-round draft pick, RHP Corey Miller, looked strong his first appearance for the Lake Monsters, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 2 in 3 scoreless innings of relief. Vermont batters managed just 3 hits in the game, with outfielder Brett Vertigan notching 2 of the team’s 3 hits on the night.

The team’s 24th-round pick, RHP Dawson Brown, also made his first appearance, picking up the win after tossing 2 scoreless innings, while LHP Derek Beasley posted his 1st save after notching the final out in the 9th. Outfielder Robert Martinez singled, doubled, walked and drove in a run, while third baseman Robert Kuhn doubled in a pair for the A’s.
