Starter Bruce Billings had a solid outing for Sacramento, allowing 2 runs, just 1 earned, over 5 innings of work, but he still ended up taking the loss on Saturday. Outfielder Michael Choice had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, while catcher Derek Norris went 1 for 4 in his first rehab appearance for the River Cats, and shortstop Addison Russell, serving as the designated hitter for the night, went 0 for 3 in his debut for Sacramento. Meanwhile, Susan Slusser reported on Saturday night that the A’s will add infielders Jemile Weeks and Andy Parrino along with LHP Pedro Figueroa to the major league roster when rosters expand on Sunday. She’s also expecting that the A’s will add LHP Tommy Milone and RHP Evan Scribner on Tuesday, and that outfielder Michael Choice is likely to join the major league roster as well.

Starter Zach Neal had a rough outing for the RockHounds, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits over 4 2/3 innings to take his 12th loss on Saturday. Outfielder Chad Oberacker had a pair of hits and drove in a run, while outfielder D’Arby Myers went hitless to snap his hitting streak at 33 games.

RHP Raul Alcantara had a rocky outing for the Ports, allowing 5 runs on 9 hits over 6 innings to take his 5th loss on Saturday. Catcher Phil Pohl homered, doubled and drove in 2 runs, while outfielders Myrio Richard and Bobby Crocker had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.

With 2 men on and the Snappers down by 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning, first baseman Matt Olson hit his 23rd home run to drive in the go-ahead run on Saturday. Outfielder John Wooten hit a 2-run homer to put Beloit on the board in the 4th, while shortstop Daniel Robertson and outfielder Aaron Shipman had a pair of hits apiece. Starter Dylan Covey allowed 4 runs over 5 innings of work but still ended up earning his 1st win for the Snappers, while RHP Tyler Vail got the final 3 outs for his 7th save.

Starter Hunter Adkins allowed 4 runs, 2 earned, on 6 hits over 5 2/3 innings to take his 3rd loss on Saturday. Top draft pick Billy McKinney doubled in Vermont’s only run of the game, while outfielder Tyler Marincov doubled and scored a run, and first baseman Ryan Huck and second baseman Melvin Mercedes had a pair of hits apiece for the Lake Monsters.
