Jack Perkins turned in a strong start to lead Las Vegas to its second straight victory over Tacoma on Friday. The 25-year-old righty allowed just 2 hits, both singles, and struck out 10 batters while throwing 5 scoreless frames, and he left the game with a five-run lead. Perkins has now notched 49 strikeouts through 32 2/3 innings while putting up a 3.58 ERA for the Aviators this season. RHP Jake Walkinshaw replaced Perkins on the mound and gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, while RHP Carlos Duran was charged with 3 runs in 1 inning of relief, but 24-year-old Venezuelan RHP Gustavo Rodriguez tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the victory in his debut for Las Vegas. Third baseman Alejo Lopez went 3 for 4 with a home run and drove in a pair, while catcher Daniel Susac singled, doubled and scored twice. Center fielder Colby Thomas went 3 for 5 and scored twice, and first baseman Brennan Milone singled, tripled and drove in a pair for the Aviators.
