In his California League debut, Carlos Franco helped Stockton snap a three-game skid on Friday. The 20-year-old Venezuelan catcher, who was serving as the designated hitter and batting ninth, homered in the 5th inning to put the Ports on the board, singled in a pair of runs, including the winning run, in the 6th, and then singled in another insurance run in the 9th. Center fielder Henry Bolte singled, tripled, walked and stole a base, while left fielder Nelson Beltran and right fielder Colby Thomas both singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Ports. Starter James Gonzalez allowed 4 runs over 5 frames, while RHPs Blaze Pontes and Pedro Santos each tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to close out the win for Stockton.
