The Ports battered the Storm to prevail in the opening match of their six-game series on Tuesday. 2019’s 38th-round draft pick for the A’s, LHP David Leal, turned in an impressive start for Stockton, allowing just 3 hits while striking out 5 over 6 shutout innings to pick up the win for the Ports. And the 24-year-old southpaw has now issued just 1 walk while striking out 26 over 20 2/3 innings this season for Stockton. 24-year-old Cuban RHP Diego Granado allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to post the save for the Ports. First baseman Lawrence Butler slugged a two-run homer, singled and tallied his team-leading 10th stolen base, while right fielder Junior Perez walked and smacked a solo shot. Center fielder Kevin Richards singled, drew 3 walks and scored twice, and third baseman T.J. Schofield-Sam and shortstop Robert Puason had a pair of hits apiece for the Ports.

Las Vegas suffered a walk-off loss to Sacramento to snap its three-game winning streak on Tuesday. Starting pitcher Paul Blackburn allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 6 innings of work and left with the game tied, but RHP Matt Milburn surrendered a solo shot in the bottom of the 9th to take the loss on Tuesday. Catcher Austin Allen tagged a two-run homer in the top of the 2nd to give Las Vegas the lead, while second Vimael Machin doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run, and third baseman Edwin Diaz singled, walked and scored a run for Las Vegas in the loss. With Ramon Laureano landing on the injured list for Oakland, Aviators outfielder Skye Bolt was recalled by the A’s on Tuesday.

The RockHounds recorded their fourth straight win on Tuesday. RHP Bryce Conley turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 run and striking out 7 over 6 innings of work to register the win. Second baseman Marty Bechina singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in 4 runs, while first baseman Jonah Bride and third baseman Jeremy Eierman had 3 hits apiece for the Hounds. Catcher Kyle McCann doubled and walked twice, and outfielders Devin Foyle and Mickey McDonald each singled, drew a pair of walks and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Lansing outlasted South Bend to notch a one-run win on Tuesday. Right fielder Jake Suddleson doubled, tripled and scored a run on an error, while shortstop Max Schuemann singled, doubled and tallied his team-leading 15th stolen base, and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros, who was promoted from the Ports after being named the Low-A West League Player of the Week, went 0 for 3 in his Lansing debut. Starting pitcher Shohei Tomioka allowed 1 run over 3 innings of work, while tandem starter Brady Basso gave up 1 run over 2 2/3 frames to pick up the win, and RHP Jack Weisenburger tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to secure his 3rd save for the Lugnuts.
