The Aviators notched a PCL-record 11 home runs to help them put 20 runs on the board as they bested El Paso on Friday. Catcher Sean Murphy led the way with 3 home runs – a solo shot in the 4th inning, a three-run blast in the 7th and a two-run drive in the 8th – and he’s now hit 4 home runs in his first two games since returning from the injured list for Las Vegas. Center fielder Dustin Fowler singled, doubled, homered twice and drove in 3 runs, while shortstop Jorge Mateo homered twice, singled twice, drove in a pair and stole a base, and right fielder Mark Payton hit a pair of homers and drove in 3 runs. First baseman Seth Brown tripled, hit his team-leading 23rd home run and drove in 3, and left fielder Nick Martini homered, doubled and drove in a pair for the Aviators. RHP Brian Howard made the start and surrendered 8 runs in just 2 innings of work in his Triple-A debut, while LHP A.J. Puk struck out 1 in 1 scoreless inning of relief to pick up his 2nd victory for Las Vegas.

The RockHounds suffered their second straight loss to Arkansas on Friday. Starter James Naile gave up 5 runs over 6 1/3 innings of work to take the loss, while second baseman Nate Mondou singled, doubled and scored the RockHounds’ sole run in the loss.

Stockton was shut out on eight hits on Friday. RHP Xavier Altamirano turned in a strong start, allowing just 1 run and striking out 9 over 5 2/3 frames, but he still ended up suffering his 7th loss for Stockton. Shortstop Jeremy Eierman had a pair of hits, including a double, for the Ports in the loss. Meanwhile, LHP Hogan Harris was reassigned to Stockton from Vermont on Friday.

Beloit bested Burlington by a run on Friday. Shortstop Max Schuemann tripled, walked, stole a base and drove in the tying and go-ahead runs in the 5th inning for the Snappers. Right fielder Anthony Churlin singled twice and drove in a run, and second baseman Joseph Pena doubled and scored a run for Beloit. 23-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado made his first start since being promoted to the Snappers and allowed just 1 run while striking out 6 over 4 frames. RHP Chase Cohen gave up 2 runs, just 1 earned, in 4 innings of relief to earn the win, and RHP Charlie Cerny pitched a perfect 9th to pick up the save for the Snappers.

The Lake Monsters suffered a 10-inning loss on Friday. 23-year-old Cuban LHP Yorlenis Noa made the start and allowed just 1 run over 4 1/3 frames, while RHP Clark Cota threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, but LHP Austin Briggs allowed 1 unearned run in the top of the 10th to take the loss for the Lake Monsters. 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz singled, doubled and drove in a run to account for all of Vermont’s hits and runs in the loss. Meanwhile, Lake Monsters LHP Hogan Harris was reassigned to Stockton on Friday.
