PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE (Triple-A)
El Paso Chihuahuas 10
Las Vegas Aviators 6
LP: Buchanan 2-1 / 5.88
HR: Bolt 2 (6), Neuse (3)
Prospect Of The Game:
Outfielder Skye Bolt
(2 for 5 / 2 Home Runs / 3 RBIs)
Las Vegas lost its fifth straight as El Paso completed the sweep of their five-game series on Sunday. But left fielder Skye Bolt had another big night at the plate by belting a pair of home runs, a two-run blast in the 1st and a solo shot in the 3rd, to give the 25-year-old 4 home runs in his last 3 games, and Bolt’s 15 extra-base hits now tie him with Seth Brown for the team lead. Third baseman Sheldon Neuse singled and slugged a two-run shot, while catcher Beau Taylor drew a pair of walks and doubled in a run for the Aviators. RHP Jake Buchanan struggled through a rough start, surrendering 7 runs over 4 frames to suffer his 2nd loss for Las Vegas. Meanwhile, LHP Jerry Blevins was dealt to Atlanta for cash or a player to be named later on Sunday.

RHP Edwin Jackson, who signed a minor league contract with the A’s earlier this month, was assigned to Stockton on Sunday so that the 35-year-old could make his first career start in the California League. And the veteran was solid, allowing 2 runs while walking none and notching 9 strikeouts over 5 frames to earn the win and help the Ports post their third straight victory on Sunday. RHP Joel Seddon threw 3 scoreless innings in relief, while RHP Jesus Zambrano pitched a perfect 9th to secure the save for Stockton. Catcher Jordan Devencenzi drew a walk and homered, while right fielder Austin Beck singled twice and drove in a pair for the Ports.
