Last year’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s tied a career high with 8 strikeouts while walking none and allowing 1 run on just 3 hits over 6 innings of work to earn his 6th win for the Snappers. RHP Heath Bowers pitched 2 perfect innings in relief, while RHP Wandisson Charles struck out the side in order in the 9th. Center fielder Austin Beck and first baseman Hunter Hargrove each singled twice and drove in 2 runs, while shortstop Nick Allen singled, walked twice, stole a base and scored a run, and designated hitter Logan Farrar doubled in a pair of runs for the Snappers.

The RockHounds were shut out on just one hit on Sunday. Starter Brian Howard allowed 3 runs over 4 1/3 frames to suffer his 2nd loss for Midland. Shortstop Richie Martin singled for the Hounds’ only hit in the loss, while third baseman Nate Mondou went 0 for 2 and was hit by a pitch in his Double-A debut. Along with Mondou, outfielder Luis Barrera was promoted from the Ports to Midland, while infielder Edwin Diaz and outfielder Brett Siddall were reassigned to Stockton from the RockHounds on Sunday.

Vermont overcame an early five-run deficit to claim victory on Sunday. This year’s 12th-round draft pick fo the A’s, right fielder Noah Vaughan, tripled, doubled, walked and drove in 3 runs, while last year’s 16th-round pick, left fielder Payton Squier, had 3 hits and drove in a run, and 19-year-old Venezuelan designated hitter Jose Rivas singled twice, walked and drove in a run. Last year’s 29th-round pick, RHP Adam Reuss, made the start and allowed 5 runs over 5 frames, while this year’s 7th-round pick, RHP Charlie Cerny, pitched 2 perfect innings in relief to pick up his 1st professional victory for Vermont, and last year’s 31st-round pick, RHP Brandon Withers, tossed 2 scoreless innings to secure his 2nd save for the Lake Monsters.

The 19-year-old threw 6 scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 1.86, but this year’s 26th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Leudeny Pineda, gave up 2 runs in relief to take the loss. 17-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while this year’s 34th-round pick, second baseman Nick Ward, doubled, drew a pair of walks and stole a base in the loss.
