Beloit Snappers                4

West Michigan Whitecaps  3

WP: Reagan 3-3 / 4.85

Prospect Of The Game:

Pitcher Mitchell Jordan

(6 1/3 IP / 5 H / 2 ER / 1 BB / 3 K)

Center fielder Austin Beck may have had the big hit for Beloit, but starting pitcher Mitchell Jordan turned in the top overall performance for the Snappers on Saturday night. Jordan, who was the A’s 10th-round draft pick in 2016, allowed 2 runs over 6 1/3 innings of work and left the game with a one-run lead. The 23-year-old righty has allowed just 3 earned runs in 18 innings over his last 3 starts, and his 2.45 ERA is best among Beloit starters and fourth best in the Midwest League. LHP Josh Reagan gave up the tying run in the bottom of the 8th but, after going 0 for 4 in the game, center fielder Austin Beck doubled in the winning run in the top of the 9th for the Snappers. Beck’s double was just Beloit’s fifth hit of the game and the team’s only extra-base hit on Saturday. Reagan was credited with the win, while RHP Jaimito Lebron tossed a scoreless 9th to secure his 1st save as the Snappers notched their ninth win in their last ten games to remain one game out of first place in the division.
