Shortstop Nick Allen notched the first 4-hit game of his pro career to help the Snappers win their seventh straight on Wednesday. The 19-year-old singled twice, doubled twice and drove in 2 runs to raise his average on the season to .224. Third baseman Jesus Lopez had 2 hits, including a double, drew a walk and drove in 3 runs, while catcher Jordan Devencenzi walked twice and singled in a run, and first baseman Hunter Hargrove and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros each singled twice and drove in a run for the Snappers. Starter Wyatt Marks allowed 3 runs, 2 earned, over 6 innings of work to earn his 4th win for Beloit.

The RockHounds suffered their sixth loss in their last seven games on Wednesday. Starter Joel Seddon surrendered 3 runs in 2 innings of work to take the loss, while LHP Cody Stull gave up 4 runs in just 1 inning of relief for the RockHounds. Catcher Jonah Heim had 2 hits, including a double, drove in 2 runs and scored twice in his Double-A debut, while third baseman J.P. Sportman singled twice, doubled and stole a base, and center fielder Skye Bolt and designated hitter Tyler Ramirez had a pair of hits apiece in the loss.

RHP Matt Milburn turned in a strong start for Stockton, allowing just 1 run and striking out 5 over 6 2/3 frames to take the loss. This year’s 27th-round draft pick for the A’s, right fielder Chase Calabuig, doubled for the Ports’ only extra-base hit in the loss.

The Lake Monsters shut out State College on just two hits on Wednesday. This year’s 14th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Gus Varland, made the start and threw 3 scoreless innings, while 22-year-old Venezuelan LHP Jhenderson Hurtado struck out 5 in 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to earn his 2nd win, and last year’s 31st-round pick, RHP Brandon Withers, got the final four outs for the Lake Monsters to complete the shutout and secure his 1st save. This year’s 4th-round pick, first baseman Alfonso Rivas, 19-year-old Venezuelan catcher Jose Rivas and 18-year-old Dominican second baseman Marcos Brito had 3 hits apiece, and this year’s 12th-round pick, left fielder Noah Vaughan, singled twice, stole a base and drove in a pair of runs for Vermont.
