RHP Ben Bracewell turned in an impressive start to help the Sounds take their third straight from Iowa on Sunday. The 27-year-old allowed just 2 hits while throwing 6 shutout innings to earn his 2nd win for the Sounds. Nashville’s bullpen surrendered 3 runs over the final two frames, but RHP Liam Hendriks came on to get the last two outs in the 9th to notch his 1st save for the Sounds. Shortstop Franklin Barreto homered for the second straight night, drew a walk and drove in 2 runs, while right fielder Ramon Laureano singled, walked and scored a run. Catcher Beau Taylor collected 2 hits, and first baseman Steve Lombardozzi singled and drove in a pair of runs for Nashville. The Sounds will be off until Thursday for the Triple-A All-Star break.

The RockHounds were shut out on five hits to suffer their fifth straight loss on Sunday. Second baseman Eli White continued his hot hitting, collecting a pair of hits to raise his team-best batting average to .322. White also tallied his 14th stolen base to tie him with J.P. Sportman for the team lead. Starter Brian Howard allowed 3 runs and struck out 8 over 5 frames to suffer the loss on Sunday.

Stockton suffered its fourth straight loss to the 66ers on Sunday. Second baseman Nate Mondou had a big night at the plate for the Ports, collecting 3 doubles and driving in 3 runs to raise his team-leading RBI total to 53. Right fielder Luke Persico doubled twice and drove in a pair, while left fielder Chase Calabuig, this year’s 27th-round draft pick for the A’s, doubled and drew a walk in his California League debut on Sunday. Starter Dustin Hurlbutt surrendered 6 runs in just 2 2/3 innings to take the loss for Stockton.

The Snappers shut out Clinton on just four hits to win their fifth straight on Sunday. RHP Mitchell Jordan turned in an outstanding start for the Snappers, allowing 4 hits while striking out a career-high 10 over 6 shutout innings to earn his 3rd win. RHP Seth Martinez threw 3 scoreless innings in relief to complete the shutout and secure his team-leading 10th save for the Snappers. Designated hitter Logan Farrar hit a two-run homer and singled in a run, while first baseman Hunter Hargrove had 2 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair, and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros singled twice, walked and stole a base for the Snappers.

Starter Abdiel Mendoza allowed 5 runs, just 1 earned, over 5 frames to take the loss, while this year’s 5th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Brady Feigl, tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings, and LHP Chris Kohler pitched 1 1/3 perfect innings in relief. This year’s 33rd-round pick, second baseman Joseph Pena, singled, stole a base and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, while 17th-round center fielder Devin Foyle and 23rd-round third baseman Jonah Bride both singled and walked in the loss.

21-year-old Venezuelan center fielder Yhoelnys Gonzalez had a big game at the plate to help the AZL A’s win on Sunday. Gonzalez collected 3 hits, stole a base, drove in a run and scored twice, while 17-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz and this year’s 30th-round draft pick for the A’s, first baseman Gio Dingcong, both singled, doubled and drove in runs for the A’s. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Richard Morban made the start and allowed 2 runs and struck out 5 over 4 frames, while last year’s 32nd-round pick, RHP Caleb Evans, tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the win, and this year’s 13th-round pick, RHP Dallas Woolfolk, got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 2nd save for the A’s.
