LHP Jesus Luzardo turned in his fifth straight impressive start for the RockHounds on Tuesday. The 20-year-old southpaw allowed just a single base runner over 5 scoreless innings to earn his 5th win for Midland, and Luzardo has now failed to allow an earned run over his last 20 innings and has given up just 1 earned run in his last 25 frames. LHP Cody Stull surrendered 1 run in 2 innings of relief in his return from the disabled list. Shorstop Eli White collected 4 hits and a walk, stole a base and scored twice, while left fielder Tyler Ramirez had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair. First baseman Seth Brown singled twice, doubled, drew a walk and scored 3 runs, and right fielder Skye Bolt singled, doubled, walked and drove in 3 runs for the RockHounds. And with Stull’s return to action, RHP Trey Cochran-Gill was reassigned to Stockton on Tuesday.

Nashville notched the win in the final game of their five-game series with Omaha on Tuesday. Right fielder Jake Smolinski homered, doubled and drove in a pair, while designated hitter Sheldon Neuse singled and homered, and first baseman Nick Martini drew a walk and drilled a two-run homer. Rehabbing LHP Brett Anderson allowed 2 runs over 5 2/3 frames to secure his 2nd win for the Sounds. And with Matt Chapman returning to action for the A’s, Oakland sent infielder Franklin Barreto back to the Sounds on Tuesday.

Stockton took its second straight from Lancaster on Tuesday. RHP Dustin Hurlbutt delivered a strong start for Stockton, allowing 2 runs over 6 1/3 innings to pick up his 3rd win for the Ports. First baseman Sandber Pimentel singled and slugged a two-run homer, while shortstop Brallan Perez singled, doubled, tripled and scored twice. Center fielder Luis Barrera singled twice, walked, stole a base, and drove in 2 runs, and right fielder Dairon Blanco tripled in a pair for the Ports. Meanwhile, Stockton shortstop Kevin Merrell was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday, and RockHounds RHP Trey Cochran-Gill was reassigned to Stockton.

The Lake Monsters shut out Tri-City on just three hits on Tuesday. 19-year-old Panamanian RHP Abdiel Mendoza turned in an outstanding start, allowing just 3 hits over 6 shutout innings to earn his 2nd victory for Vermont. This year’s 7th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Charlie Cerny, tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, and this year’s 10th-round pick, RHP Clark Cota, got the final three outs in the 9th to complete the shutout and notch his 1st save for the Lake Monsters. Designated hitter Anthony Churlin singled and walked, while shortstop Jeremy Eierman and right fielder Devin Foyle both drove in runs for Vermont.
ARIZONA LEAGUE (Rookie Short-Season)

The AZL A’s dropped their second straight on Tuesday. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Richard Morban made the start and was solid, allowing just 2 unearned runs, with the help of a throwing error by catcher Cesarre Astorri and a fielding error by right fielder Danny Bautista, while striking out 7 over 4 frames, but he still ended up suffering the loss. Astorri had 2 hits, including a double, and 17-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz singled and drew a pair of walks in the loss.
