Stockton shut out Lake Elsinore on seven hits on Friday. LHP Zack Erwin turned in a strong start, striking out 5 while throwing 5 2/3 shutout frames to lower his ERA to 2.38 and earn his 2nd win for Stockton. RHP Angel Duno tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Miguel Romero pitched a perfect 9th to complete the shutout and pick up his 6th save for the Ports. Second baseman Nate Mondou doubled in 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning to account for all of Stockton’s scoring on the night.

The Sounds were shut out on just five hits on Friday to snap their three-game winning streak. RHP James Naile turned in another solid start, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings of work, but he still ended up suffering the loss for the Sounds. Left fielder B.J. Boyd singled twice and drew a walk, while catcher Dustin Garneau doubled for Nashville’s only extra-base hit in the loss. And with Oakland LHP Ryan Buchter landing on the disabled list, Sounds LHP Danny Coulombe was recalled by the A’s. Nashville RHP Josh Lucas was placed on the disabled list on Friday, and RHP Jake Sanchez was reassigned from the RockHounds to the Sounds.

Midland failed to prevail in a one-run game on Friday. Starter Kyle Friedrichs allowed 1 run in 4 innings of work, while RHP Nolan Blackwood gave up 2 runs in 1 inning of relief, and RHP J.B. Wendelken surrendered the winning run with one out in the bottom of the 9th to suffer the loss as San Antonio won in a walk-off. Center fielder Tyler Ramirez singled, doubled, drew a walk and stole a base, while first baseman Seth Brown and left fielder Brett Siddall both doubled, and shortstop Richie Martin singled twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Midland lost its saves leader when RHP Jake Sanchez was reassigned to the Sounds on Friday.

The Snappers won for the fourth time in their last five games on Friday. Starter Jean Ruiz was solid, allowing just 1 run over 4 1/3 innings of work, but RHP Wyatt Marks was outstanding in relief, striking out 9 in 4 2/3 scoreless frames to earn his 3rd win for the Snappers. Center fielder Austin Beck and second baseman Trace Loehr had a pair of hits apiece, and designated hitter Mickey McDonald singled, doubled and scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 8th inning for Beloit. Meanwhile, RHP Michael Danielak landed on the disabled list and LHP Ivan Andueza was assigned to the Snappers on Friday.
