Prospect Of The Game:
Designated Hitter Mickey McDonald
(4 for 6 / Double / GWRBI)
The Snappers won their third straight, this one in a walk-off, on Wednesday. With two outs, two on and the game tied in the bottom of the 9th, designated hitter Mickey McDonald singled to drive home the winning run for Beloit and bring a swift end to the night’s contest. McDonald collected 4 hits in the game, including a double, to raise his average to .405, which is good for second-best among all qualified Midwest League batters. Catcher Jordan Devencenzi had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, while left fielder Logan Farrar singled, doubled and drove in a pair. Center fielder Austin Beck doubled in a run to increase his team-leading RBI total to 13, and first baseman Hunter Hargrove doubled, walked and drove in a pair for the Snappers. Starter Michael Danielak was charged with 7 runs, 4 earned, over 3 2/3 frames, while RHP Mitchell Jordan, threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief in his season debut for Beloit, and Heath Bowers picked up the win despite allowing a run in the top of the 9th for the Snappers. In other news, the A’s traded Snappers LHP Logan Salow, last year’s 6th-round draft pick who had a 1.59 ERA in 4 relief appearances, to the Dodgers for RHP Wilmer Font on Wednesday.

Right fielder Tyler Marincov doubled in a pair of runs with two outs in the top of the 9th to put the Hounds back in the game. He then came around to score on designated hitter Brett Vertigan‘s RBI single to bring his team back within a run, but that was as close as the RockHounds would come on Wednesday.
