A’s Lose 24 Minor League Free Agents

Within a few days after the end of the World Series, not only do a number of major league players become free agents, but a flood of minor league free agents also hit the open market. And a couple dozen A’s minor league players became minor league free agents this week.

Some players who’ve previously appeared with the A’s to hit the free agent market include outfielder Nick Martini as well as pitchers Aaron Brooks, Carlos Duran, Anthony Maldonado and Ben Bowden. Former 2nd-round draft pick Tyler Baum and Cuban import Pedro Santos are also among the pitchers who’ve now become free agents.

The list of players not on the A’s 40-man roster who have become free agents since the end of the World Series include 18 pitchers and 6 position players…
