RHP Blake Beers and right fielder Junior Perez helped the RockHounds record the win over the Travelers on Sunday. Beers, who spent the first couple months of the season on the injured list, turned in an outstanding start, needing just 60 pitches to register his first win of the season for the RockHounds. The 27-year-old righty allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk and struck out 5 while throwing 5 scoreless frames to lower his ERA to 3.24 through 25 innings of work for Midland. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Perez singled, tripled, homered, drove in 3 runs and scored twice, and he now leads the squad with 13 home runs on the season. Designated hitter Colby Halter homered, doubled and drove in 4, while center fielder Henry Bolte singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored twice, and shortstop Euribiel Angeles singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds.
