Shortstop Euribiel Angeles had a big night at the plate to help the RockHounds record the win over the Sod Poodles on Thursday. The 23-year-old Dominican infielder homered in the bottom of the 3rd inning to tie the game, drove in the winning run with a ground out in the 5th inning, and then doubled with the bases loaded to bring home 3 runs in the 6th. He also walked but was left stranded in the 8th. His 19 doubles are tops in the Texas League, while his .300 batting average is third-best in the league among all qualified hitters. Second baseman Colby Halter doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run, while designated hitter Luke Mann singled, walked twice, was hit by a pitch and scored a run, and catcher Shane McGuire singled, drew a walk and drove in a run for the RockHounds. LHP Gage Jump turned in a solid start, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while issuing just 1 walk and striking out 5 through 5 frames to earn his 5th win for Midland.
