Left fielder Carlos Cortes helped lead Las Vegas to a one-run victory as the Aviators won their third straight on Wednesday. The 27-year-old outfielder, who was signed as a minor league free agent in the offseason, homered for the second straight night, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a pair and scored twice, and he’s now 7 for 15 with 6 extra-base hits, 8 RBIs and 4 walks over his last 4 games for Las Vegas. Right fielder Nick Martini also homered for the second straight night, was hit by a pitch and scored 3 runs, while shortstop Darell Hernaiz singled twice and drove in a run, and designated hitter Gio Urshela went 1 for 2 with a walk and drove in a run in his first rehab game with the Aviators. RHP J.T. Ginn gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in just 3 1/3 innings of work in his second rehab start, while RHP Jack Cushing tossed 2/3 of an inning in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Elvis Alvarado threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings to secure his 7th save for Las Vegas.
