RHP Luis Morales turned in an outstanding start in his Triple-A debut to lead Las Vegas to victory on Saturday. The hard-throwing, 22-year-old, Cuban righty threw 6 scoreless and hitless innings, issuing just 1 walk while notching 7 strikeouts to earn the victory for the Aviators. Morales threw 88 pitches, 62 for strikes and, including his last pair of outings for Double-A Midland, he’s now allowed just 3 runs while recording 26 strikeouts in 19 innings over his last 3 starts. Meanwhile, LHP David Leal surrendered Sugar Land’s sole run in 1 inning of relief in his Triple-A debut. Left fielder Carlos Cortes singled, walked and tagged a two-run homer, while designated hitter Max Muncy singled, walked twice and stole a base, and center fielder Drew Avans singled twice, walked and scored a run for Las Vegas.
