Left fielder Drew Avans helped Las Vegas battle back to best El Paso on Saturday. The 28-year-old outfielder had a pair of hits, including an RBI single to bring home the go -ahead run in the 6th inning. He also drew a pair of walks and scored an important insurance run in the 8th. In addition, Avans tallied his team leading 13th stolen base, and he now leads all A’s minor leaguers with 52 hits and 36 runs scored while boasting a batting average of .321 on the season. Center fielder Denzel Clarke tripled, walked twice and scored a run, while third baseman CJ Alexander collected 3 hits and drove in a run, and shortstop Darell Hernaiz had a pair of hits, drew a walk and drove in a run for Las Vegas. Starter Joey Estes gave up 2 runs on a pair of solo home runs in 2 innings of work, while RHP Jake Walkinshaw allowed 1 run on 2 hits and struck out 4 in 4 frames to earn the victory, and RHP Elvis Alvarado tossed a scoreless 9th to secure his 6th save for the Aviators.
