Sunday, May 4th: Yunior Tur Leads Lansing to Shutout Victory while Vegas Wins 9th Straight

Lansing handed Lake County a 10-inning shutout loss on Sunday. RHP Yunior Tur turned in another solid start, allowing 5 hits and striking out 4 while throwing 5 scoreless frames. The 25-year-old Cuban righty has allowed more than one run in just one of his five starts this season, and he’s now compiled a 2.25 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 24 innings for the Lugnuts in 2025. RHP Jake Garland tossed 2 shutout innings in relief, while RHP Corey Avant threw a scoreless 8^th, RHP Gustavo Rodriguez pitched a perfect 9^th, and RHP Blaze Pontes tossed a scoreless frame in the top 10^th to complete the seven-hit shutout and pick up the win for Lansing. Center fielder Nate Nankil singled to provide one of the Lugnuts’ two hits on the day, while left fielder Rodney Green drew a pair of walks and swiped his team-leading 6^th stolen base, and third baseman Sahid Valenzuela, filling in for Tommy White who landed on the injured list after slicing open his knee while chasing a foul ball in Saturday’s game, singled in the game’s sole run with one out in the bottom of the 10^th to give Lansing the walk-off win on Sunday.
