While his team ended up going down to defeat, RHP Grant Judkins turned in the top performance in the A’s system on Saturday. The 27-year-old righty allowed just 2 hits while issuing no walks and striking out 3 through 6 scoreless innings of work. Judkins threw 87 pitches, 57 for strikes, and he’s now compiled an ERA of 3.60 while hitters are batting just .213 against him through his first 5 starts this season. RHP Mark Adamiak ended up allowing 3 runs in the top of the 9th inning to take the loss for the Lugnuts. Right fielder Nate Nankil singled twice and drew a walk, while shortstop Joshua Kuroda-Grauer went 1 for 4 with a double, and third baseman Tommy White singled and scored Lansing’s sole run in the loss.
