RHP Luis Morales turned in his second straight outstanding to lead Midland to victory on Thursday. The 22-year-old Cuban righty allowed just 1 run and 1 hit while walking 3 and striking out 7 in 7 innings of work to earn the win. Morales was very efficient, throwing just 85 pitches, 51 for strikes, and he’s now given up just 3 hits with 15 strikeouts in 13 innings over his last pair of starts. RHPs Mitch Myers and Shohei Tomioka each tossed a scoreless inning in relief to close out the victory for the RockHounds. Second baseman Colby Halter singled, homered and drove in a pair, while first baseman Brennan Milone singled, doubled and drove in a run, and left fielder Brayan Buelvas singled, walked, stole a base, scored twice and drove in a run for the RockHounds.
