Designated hitter Myles Naylor and center fielder Pedro Pineda both hit big home runs to help the Ports prevail for the fifth time in their last six games on Sunday. Naylor doubled in a run to put the Ports on the board in the 1st inning and then tagged a two-run homer to tie the game in the top of the 5th. He also drew a walk and scored twice in the game, and he’s now 8 for 25 with 4 home runs in his last 6 games for Stockton. Pineda went 2 for 4 and hit a 3-run homer to break a 4-4 tie in the 6th, and he’s now 9 for 19 over his last 6 games. Third baseman Jared Sprague-Lott singled, drew 3 walks and scored twice, while catcher Davis Diaz and first baseman German Ortiz each doubled, drew a walk and scored a run for Stockton. Starter Blake Hammond gave up 4 runs in 2 2/3 innings of work, while 19-year-old Venezuelan RHP Donny Troconis pitched 3 perfect frames to pick up the win, and he’s now allowed just 2 hits through 12 scoreless innings so far this season. RHP Alejandro Manzano tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings to secure his 2nd save for Stockton.

The Aviators suffered a loss in extra innings on Sunday. Starter Jason Alexander allowed 1 run through 4 frames, and LHP Matt Krook gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in the top of the 11th inning to take the loss for Las Vegas. Second baseman Logan Davidson had 3 hits, including a double, drew a walk and drove in a pair, while designated hitter Daniel Susac singled twice and walked twice, and catcher Willie MacIver slugged a solo shot for Las Vegas in the loss.
