RHP Tzu-Chen Sha led Stockton to its second shutout win of the season on Saturday. The 21-year-old Taiwanese righty allowed just 2 hits while notching 9 strikeouts without issuing a walk through 6 shutout innings to earn the win. Sha threw 76 pitches, 54 of them for strikes. And after pitching 3 perfect innings for the Ports in last Sunday’s no-hitter, he’s now failed to allow a run while recording 15 strikeouts with no walks in 9 innings of work so far this season for Stockton. 20-year-old Dominican RHP Jefferson Jean followed Sha on the mound and struck out 7 through 3 scoreless frames to complete the shutout and secure the save on Saturday. Jean has now thrown 8 scoreless innings for Stockton this season, while the Ports pitching staff has allowed a total of just 14 earned runs through the team’s first 8 games and boasts the league’s best ERA. Catcher Carlos Franco collected a pair of hits, while left fielder C.J. Pittaro doubled, and center fielder Cameron Leary walked twice, scored a run and tallied his league-leading 7th stolen base for Stockton.
