The RockHounds went down to defeat in a 9th-inning walk-off in the decisive game of the best-of-three Texas League Championship Series on Wednesday. Midland starter Jack Perkins gave up 3 runs and struck out 8 through 5 frames, while LHP David Leal allowed 1 run in 1 2/3 innings of relief. Left fielder Junior Perez drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the tying run in the RockHounds’ three-run 8th. RHP Tyler Baum threw a scoreless 8th to keep the game tied, but RHP Seth Elledge gave up an RBI single with one out in the bottom of the 9th to bring home the winning run and suffer the loss for the Hounds. Shortstop Jeremy Eierman doubled and drew a pair of walks in the game, while designated hitter Brennan Milone singled, walked twice and drove in a run. Second baseman Euribiel Angeles doubled and scored the tying run, and pinch hitter Jordan Groshans singled in a run for the RockHounds in the loss.
In Other News…
Arizona Fall League rosters were announced on Wednesday. The A’s are set to have three hitters and five pitchers on the Mesa Solar Sox roster. The A’s contingent will include catcher Daniel Susac and outfielders Denzel Clarke and Henry Bolte along with pitchers Jake Walkinshaw, Mitch Myers, Wander Guante, Tyler Baum and Micah Dallas. Play is set to begin on Monday, October 7th.
