The RockHounds recorded the win over the RoughRiders in the decisive game of their best-of-three playoff series on Friday. Starting pitcher Jake Walkinshaw delivered a strong start, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits through 5 frames without issuing a walk to earn the win. LHP Domingo Robles gave up 1 run in 3 innings of relief, while RHP Colin Peluse pitched a perfect 9th to pick up the save. Third baseman Jordan Groshans had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run, while shortstop Jack Winkler singled twice, walked twice, scored twice and stole a base, and second baseman Euribiel Angeles had a pair of hits, drew a walk, stole a base and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Midland will now face the Arkansas Travelers in the Texas League Championship Series, which is set to begin in Midland on Sunday.

Las Vegas suffered its fourth straight loss to El Paso on Friday. RHP Kade Morris gave up 7 runs in 2 2/3 innings of work to take the loss in his first start for Las Vegas. Designated hitter Carlos Perez had 3 hits, including a triple, and drove in a run, while center fielder Cooper Bowman doubled and drew a walk, and right fielder Colby Thomas singled, walked and scored twice for Las Vegas in the loss.
