The Aviators notched their fourth victory in their last five games on Saturday, and left fielder Logan Davidson had another big game for Las Vegas. The former 1st-round pick went 4 for 4 with a home run and a pair of doubles and drove in 5 runs on the night. Davidson is now 12 for 21 with 9 extra-base hits over his last 5 games and is slashing .383/.483/.787 through 12 games in the month of September. Catcher Yohel Pozo singled twice, homered and drove in 3 runs, while third baseman CJ Alexander singled and slugged a two-run homer, and center fielder Cooper Bowman singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and swiped a pair of bases for the Aviators. RHP Janson Junk made his first start for Las Vegas and allowed 3 runs over 4 1/3 frames. RHP Zach Jackson tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win, and RHP Kade Morris threw 3 scoreless innings to secure the save in his first appearance for Las Vegas.

LHP Will Johnston turned in an excellent start for Midland on Saturday. The 23-year-old lefty allowed 1 run on just 3 hits while striking out 10 without issuing a walk over 5 frames, and he left with the game a 1-1 tie. RHP Ryan Cusick tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, but RHP Tyler Baum gave up 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to take the loss for Midland. Center fielder Denzel Clarke singled, doubled and scored a run, while second baseman Jack Winkler went 1 for 4 with a double, and designated hitter Brennan Milone doubled, drew a walk and drove in the RockHounds’ sole run in the loss.
