The Aviators notched their sixth victory in their last eight games on Wednesday. Rehabbing designated hitter Tyler Soderstrom, right fielder Colby Thomas and second baseman Logan Davidson led the Las Vegas attack. Soderstrom turned in another solid performance, going 2 for 3 with a two-run homer and a walk, and he’s now gone 8 for 16 with 3 home runs, 4 walks and 8 RBIs over 5 rehab games with the Aviators. Meanwhile, Thomas tagged a two-run homer in the 4th inning, and Davidson singled and slugged a solo shot in the 1st for Las Vegas. Starter Joe Boyle allowed 1 run and struck out 4 in 3 innings of work, while RHP Zach Jackson tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win, and RHP Dany Jimenez notched the final six outs to secure the save for the Aviators. In other news, Midland LHP James Gonzalez and Lansing RHP Kade Morris were both added to the Las Vegas pitching staff on Wednesday.

The RockHounds suffered a late-game loss on Wednesday. Starter Jake Walkinshaw allowed 2 runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, while RHPs Colin Peluse and Ryan Cusick combined to throw 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief but, with the game tied, RHP Tyler Baum gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to take the loss for the RockHounds. Shortstop Jeremy Eierman had a big game, going 3 for 4 with a pair of home runs and driving in 3 runs on the night. Second baseman Brennan Milone doubled and drew a walk, and right fielder Henry Bolte singled twice and scored a run for the RockHounds in the loss.
