On a day when all the A’s affiliates went down to defeat, Las Vegas designated hitter Jordan Diaz turned in the top performance of the day. The 23-year-old Colombian infielder collected a total of 3 hits, including his 14th home run, a two-run shot in the 3rd inning to temporarily give his team the lead. Diaz is now slashing .293/.365/.500 this season for Las Vegas, and he leads the squad with 81 hits and 56 RBI. First baseman Ryan Noda and shortstop Nick Allen each homered and doubled, while third baseman Armando Alvarez tagged a two-run shot in the 1st to give Las Vegas an early lead, and second baseman Cooper Bowman had a pair of hits, stole a base and scored a run in his second game with the Aviators. Starting pitcher Gunnar Hoglund allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 1 walk and struck out 7 in 6 innings of work in his Las Vegas debut, but LHP Jack O’Loughlin gave up 4 runs in 1 1/3 innings to suffer the loss for the Aviators.
