Second baseman Cooper Bowman’s big bat helped the RockHounds record their third straight win over the Hooks on Sunday. The 24-year-old infielder tripled, doubled, drew a walk, swiped a pair of bases and scored 3 runs for the RockHounds. And Bowman is now 7 for 12 with 3 extra-base hits, 2 walks, 3 stolen bases, 3 RBI and 6 runs scored in 3 games for Midland since the All-Star break. Left fielder Junior Perez doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and stole 2 bases, while center fielder Henry Bolte singled twice, stole a base and drove in a run. Third baseman Jeremy Eierman singled and doubled, and first baseman Jordan Groshans singled twice and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. Starter Blake Beers gave up 2 runs in 5 frames to earn the win, while RHP Colin Peluse tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Seth Elledge got the final three outs in the 9th to secure the save for Midland.
