TEXAS LEAGUE (DOUBLE-A)
Arkansas Travelers 5
Midland RockHounds 11
WP: Robles 2-2 / 3.95
HR: Milone (8), Rosario (2)
First baseman Brennan Milone’s big bat helped the RockHounds record their third straight win on Wednesday. The 23-year-old infielder doubled with the bases loaded to drive in 3 runs and tie the game in the 3rd inning and then tagged a two-run homer in the 4th. Milone has gone 11 for 33 with 6 extra-base hits and 9 RBI in 7 games in July. He now leads the squad in both hits and runs, and his .360 on-base percentage is best among all current Hounds with at least 200 at-bats this season. Catcher Daniel Susac singled, tripled, drew a walk, stole a base, drove in a run and scored twice, while designated hitter Jeisson Rosario singled and slugged a three-run homer, and shortstop Jack Winkler had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Starter Domingo Robles picked up the win despite surrendering 5 runs over 6 2/3 frames, while RHP Shohei Tomioka threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Danis Correa got the final three outs in the 9th to close out the win for the RockHounds.
