On a day when all the A’s affiliates went down to defeat, Las Vegas second baseman Jordan Diaz turned in the best performance down on the farm. The 23-year-old Colombian infielder belted a pair of homers and a double and drove in 5 runs on the night for the Aviators. And Diaz is now slashing .397/.466/.756 during the month of June to raise his season slash line to .297/.371/.516. Center fielder Seth Brown singled, homered and drove in a pair, while left fielder Colby Thomas slugged a solo shot in the 6th inning and drew a walk. First baseman Ryan Noda had a pair of doubles, and shortstop Nick Allen singled, walked twice and scored 3 runs for the Aviators. Starter Joe Boyle allowed 4 hits, issued 6 walks without recording a strikeout and was charged with 8 runs in 1 1/3 innings of work to suffer the loss, while rehabbing LHP Kyle Muller allowed 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of work, and RHP Grant Holman saw his 30-inning scoreless streak this season come to an end when he gave up 3 runs, 2 earned, in 2 innings of relief for Las Vegas.
