RHP Chen Zhong-Ao Zhuang turned in another outstanding performance to help Lansing snap its eight-game losing streak on Wednesday. The 23-year-old Taiwanese righty allowed just 2 hits while throwing 5 scoreless frames to earn his 2nd win for the Lugnuts. Zhuang has now allowed just 2 earned runs over his last 16 innings for the Lugnuts and currently boasts the best ERA (1.89) and WHIP (0.90) among all A’s minor league starters while throwing 52 1/3 combined innings this season for Lansing and Stockton. RHP Jake Garland allowed just 1 run in 4 innings of work to close out the victory and pick up his 1st save of the season. First baseman Will Simpson doubled and drilled a two-run homer, while designated hitter Jonny Butler picked up a pair of triples, drew a walk and drove in 3, and shortstop Euribiel Angeles singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run for the Lugnuts.
