Second baseman Jordan Diaz drove in 5 runs and extended his hitting streak to 6 games on Wednesday to help the Aviators notch their fifth straight victory. The 23-year-old Colombian infielder collected 3 hits, including a game-tying two-run homer in the 2^nd inning and a three-run homer in the 4^th that provided the margin of victory for Las Vegas, and Diaz has now gone 11 for 23 with 4 extra-base hits and 8 RBI in his last 6 games since being designated for assignment by the A’s. First baseman Ryan Noda singled, walked twice and scored a run, while center fielder Lawrence Butler had a pair of hits, including a double. Left fielder Armando Alvarez singled twice and drove in a run, and third baseman Tyler Nevin hit his 2^nd home run for the Aviators. Starter Brady Basso allowed 2 runs over 4 frames, while RHP Michel Otanez tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to earn the victory for Las Vegas.
