  1. I live in Las Vegas and have for over 27 years. I have yet to meet anyone here (and I work as a stagehand on the Strip) who wants the A’s here except the people from the big blue cities like LA, SF and NYC. There is a gap with the County/State of about 70 million plus to build the stadium, that would have to sell out almost every game to break even. Here is a secret about Las Vegas: we don’t like nor support losing programs such as the Raiders and the UNLV sports teams. You see few Raider stickers or license plates. Even fewer UNLV Basketball/ Football bumper stickers. The hardest ticket to get is not for Taylor Swift but for the Golden Knights hockey team, which from its first year was competitive enough to get to the Stanley Cup Finals. The A’s are about a decade away from competing. This team, as composed today, may set the new MLB record for most losses (the record as of now is by the 2003 Detroit Tigers, who were 43-119. The A’s are on schedule to lose over 120 games at this time. The AAA team, which is here in Las Vegas, is not much better. They are 20-22.

When they come to the new ballpark at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Tropicana (the 9 acres for the ballpark have been donated by the Bally’s people) they better be good, or they will play to fewer people than they do now…….

And there is talk about an NBA team but too many people like myself remember how the gangsters from LA and NYC came and made the NBA All-Star Game here a horror………….
