Second baseman Zack Gelof helped lead Las Vegas to its second straight victory over Tacoma on Thursday. The A’s 2^nd-round draft pick in 2021 walked and scored the go-ahead run in the 2^nd inning, tripled in a run and came around to score in the 4^th, singled in a run in the 5^th, and then tagged a two-run homer in the 7^th. And the 23-year-old is now boasting an on-base percentage of .444 in 10 games for the Aviators. Shortstop Nick Allen singled, doubled twice, drew a walk and stole a base, while third baseman Pablo Reyes had a pair of hits, including a triple, walked and scored twice. First baseman Kyle McCann singled, tripled and drove in a pair, and right fielder Ramon Laureano went 3 for 3 with a double in his first rehab game with Las Vegas. RHP Zach Neal made the start and allowed 2 runs and struck out 5 over 4 frames, while RHP Aaron Wilkerson picked up the win despite giving up 2 runs in 3 innings of relief, and RHP Spencer Patton notched the final out in the 9^th to secure the save for the Aviators. Meanwhile, RHP Luis Medina was optioned back to Las Vegas on Thursday, and RHP Miguel Romero was placed on the Aviators’ Player Development List.
