Center fielder Caeden Trenkle helped lead Lansing to its fourth straight victory in the team’s home opener on Tuesday. Last year’s 9th-round draft pick for the A’s collected 4 hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored a run to help the Lugnuts remain undefeated on the young season. And Trenkle now boasts a .400 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage through the team’s first four games. Shortstop Max Muncy singled, drew a walk, drove in a pair and stole a base, while third baseman Jack Winkler had a pair of hits, including a double, in the win. 23-year-old Venezuelan RHP Christian Fernandez, who was acquired from Tampa Bay last summer in the Christian Bethancourt trade, made the start and allowed just 3 hits while striking out 6 and walking none over 4 1/3 shutout innings on Tuesday, while LHP Kumar Nambiar tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win for Lansing.
