Aiden McIntyre was born in Davis, California and attended Holy Names University in Oakland before being taken by the A’s in the 22nd round of the 2018 draft. The righthander led all A’s minor league pitchers with 150 strikeouts in 2019 while toiling for Beloit.
This season, McIntyre moved on to the A’s new High-A affiliate in Lansing, and he also moved to the bullpen, where he tallied 31 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings and posted a 1.27 ERA in 17 relief appearances for the Lugnuts before recently receiving a promotion to the Double-A Midland RockHounds in June.
McIntyre’s also been busy creating content for his YouTube channel, and we’ve been sharing some of his creations here this season. In this video, the hurler shares the secrets of how he throws his fastball. You can check out his YouTube channel here and you can follow him on Twitter at @A_McIntyre50.
