Stockton scored a season-high 14 runs to snap its five-game losing streak on Thursday. And last year’s top draft pick for the A’s, 19-year-old Tyler Soderstrom, led the way. The talented teenager homered in the bottom of the 1st inning to put the Ports on the board and singled in the tying run in the 5th. Soderstrom followed that with his second home run of the night, tagging a two-run shot in the 6th, and then walked with the bases loaded to bring home another run in the 7th. And the Turlock native now leads the league with 40 hits and 14 doubles while also boasting a team-best OPS of .960. Left fielder Lawrence Butler slugged a grand slam with one out in the 5th inning, while center fielder Brayan Buelvas tagged a two-run shot in the 6th, and catcher Cooper Uhl singled, doubled, drove in a run, drew a pair of walks and scored twice for Stockton. Starter Jack Cushing allowed 5 runs over 5 frames to pick up the win for the Ports.

    1. Have actually been wondering the same thing myself lately. Haven’t spoken to anyone about it yet. There could be arguments made on both sides. But if he keeps on performing, he might just force their hand.
