The RockHounds recorded their fourth straight win over San Antonio on Friday, and once again, Nick Allen was in the middle of much of the action. The 22-year-old, who made the start at second base on Friday, singled and scored in the 1st inning, tripled and scored in the 6th, and walked and scored the RockHounds’ final run of the night in the 8th. Allen has now gone 11 for his last 15 and is batting .351 for Midland. Catcher JJ Schwarz collected 3 hits, including a double, and first baseman Kyle McCann singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the RockHounds. RHP Chase Cohen made the start and threw 3 shutout innings, while RHP Jesus Zambrano threw 3 scoreless innings in relief to record the win for the RockHounds.

Aviators hurlers surrendered 10 runs as Las Vegas lost its second straight to Reno on Friday. Starter Grant Holmes was charged with 5 runs over 4 2/3 frames. And despite pitching better than any other Aviators who took the mound on the night, LHP A.J. Puk suffered the loss after giving up a home run in the 7th inning that gave Reno the lead. Designated hitter Luis Barrera singled and slugged a three-run homer in the 2nd inning and is now hitting .412 for the Aviators. And with Chad Pinder coming off the injured list for Oakland, infielder Vimael Machin was optioned to Las Vegas on Friday.

Lansing dropped its second straight to Dayton on Friday. Starter Reid Birlingmair allowed 1 run over 4 frames to take the loss, while RHP Charles Hall, who was the A’s 33rd-round draft pick in 2019, struck out 6 while throwing 3 scoreless and hitless innings in relief for the Lugnuts. Designated hitter Will Simoneit and first baseman Patrick McColl both singled to provide Lansing’s only hits in the loss.

Ports pitchers surrendered 14 runs as Stockton fell to San Jose on Friday. 2018’s 13th-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Dallas Woolfolk, made the start on Friday and allowed 1 run on 3 hits in just 1 inning of work to suffer the loss in his season debut. RHP Ed Baram gave up 2 runs in 3 innings of work, while RHP Jake Walkinshaw surrendered 9 runs, 7 earned, in 3 2/3 innings of relief on Friday. Second baseman Joshwan Wright drew a walk, doubled in a run, and even took the mound to pitch an inning in relief for the Ports.
