A number of players recently on A’s minor league rosters have elected to become free agents and are now eligible to sign with other organizations. They are listed below with the A’s minor league affiliate they most recently played for also noted. In addition, LHP Dean Kiekhefer, who made four appearances for the A’s in 2018 but missed most of last season due to injury, has decided to retire.
Three players who were set to become free agents have recently re-signed minor league contracts with the A’s: RHP Jesus Zambrano and LHP Jhenderson Hurtado, both of whom performed well in the Arizona Fall League, and infielder Edwin Diaz, who led the Texas League in doubles last season. And infielder Eric Campbell, who spent all of last season playing for Triple-A Las Vegas, is expected to formally re-sign soon as well.
