Left fielder Seth Brown had another big night at the plate to help Las Vegas notch a one-run victory over Omaha on Monday. Brown hit a two-run homer in the 6th inning and belted another two-run blast to tie the game in the 7th inning. The 27-year-old then doubled in the top of the 9th to drive home what would prove to be the winning run for the Aviators. And Brown now leads the league with 34 home runs and 95 RBIs on the season. Shortstop Franklin Barreto slugged a solo shot in the 6th, while center fielder Dustin Fowler singled twice, stole a base and score a run. Third baseman Eric Campbell singled, drew a walk and drove in a run, and catcher Josh Phegley went 1 for 3 with a walk and scored twice in his second rehab game with the Aviators. Starter Brian Howard was charged with 3 runs over 4 2/3 frames, while LHP Kyle Lobstein tossed 1 scoreless inning in relief to earn the win, and RHP Miguel Romero picked up the save despite allowing 1 run in the bottom of the 9th for Las Vegas. Meanwhile, outfielder Skye Bolt was placed on the injured list on Monday.

The Snappers secured a one-run win over Cedar Rapids to snap their three-game losing streak on Monday. Right fielder Nick Osborne singled and homered, while second baseman Joseph Pena had a pair of hits and drew a walk. First baseman Nick Ward singled twice and drove in a run, and shortstop Max Schuemann doubled and drove in a pair of runs for Beloit. 21-year-old Cuban RHP Richard Guasch turned in a solid start, striking out 6 over 4 scoreless frames, while RHP Joe DeMers picked up the win despite giving up 3 runs in 4 innings of relief, and RHP Charlie Cerny got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 8th save for the Snappers.

The Lake Monsters were no-hit by a trio of Aberdeen pitchers to suffer their third straight loss on Monday. Vermont managed just two baserunners in the loss. Third baseman Marty Bechina drew a walk in the 3rd inning, and shortstop Logan Davidson reached on a fielding error in the 6th. 19-year-old Puerto Rican RHP Osvaldo Berrios made the start for Vermont and permitted 3 runs over 4 frames to suffer the loss, while 23-year-old Panamanian LHP Jorge Martinez allowed 1 run and struck out 6 in 3 innings of relief for the Lake Monsters.

19-year-old Cuban RHP Pedro Santos made the start for the A’s and allowed 1 run over 3 innings of work, while 21-year-old Dominican LHP Livan Sanchez gave up 3 runs, 1 earned, in 2 innings of relief to suffer the loss on Monday. This year’s 31st-round draft pick for the A’s, left fielder Matt Koehler, reached base 4 times, on a single, a pair of walks and a hit-by-pitch. He also stole a base and scored twice for the A’s, while 17-year-old Colombian right fielder Brayan Buelvas singled, tripled, was hit by a pitch and scored twice in the loss.

The AZL A’s Gold squad shut out the Brewers Gold squad on just one hit on Monday. This year’s 33rd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Charles Hall, made the start and allowed just 1 hit while walking none and striking out 8 over 4 scoreless frames. RHP Brock Whittlesey and LHP Brady Basso each pitched 2 perfect innings in relief, with Whittlesey picking up the win, and RHP Jack Weisenburger struck out the side in order in the 9th to complete the shutout. Third baseman Matt McGarry had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, while right fielder Rafael Rincones singled twice, stole a base and drove in a run, and shortstop Elvis Peralta drew a walk and singled in a pair for the A’s.
