Stockton notched a one-run victory over Visalia on Tuesday. California League All-Star Mitchell Jordan delivered an outstanding start for Stockton, allowing 1 run on just 2 hits over 6 innings of work, and he left with the game a 1-1 tie. Rehabbing RHP Jharel Cotton made his first appearance since May 28, working 2 innings in relief to pick up the win for the Ports. Cotton allowed 1 run on 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 1. He threw 31 pitches, 20 for strikes, and Ports play-by-play man Zack Bayrouty reported that Cotton’s fastball was sitting at 92-94 mph on Tuesday night. Second baseman Ryan Gridley had another big night at the plate for the Ports, collecting 3 hits, including a home run, while driving in 2 runs and raising his average with Stockton to .391. First baseman Alfonso Rivas doubled twice and drove in a pair, while catcher Robert Mullen had a pair of hits, including a double, and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros singled twice and stole a base for Stockton.

RHP Matt Milburn turned in a strong start for the RockHounds on Tuesday, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits over 7 innings of work, and he left the game with a one-run lead. But LHP Cody Stull was charged with 4 runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief to suffer the loss for Midland. First baseman Mikey White had a big game, collecting 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, while driving in 3 runs. Right fielder Dairon Blanco doubled twice, drew a walk and tallied his team-leading 25th stolen base, while designated hitter Tyler Ramirez drew a walk and doubled in a run for the RockHounds.

Vermont notched the victory over Hudson Valley on Tuesday. This year’s 4th-round draft pick for the A’s, designated hitter Kyle McCann, hit his 2nd home run for Vermont in the 2nd inning, while 18-year-old Colombian third baseman Jordan Diaz doubled and stole a base. This year’s 29th-round draft pick, second baseman Michael Woodworth, singled in a pair of runs, and this year’s 32nd-round pick, right fielder Marty Bechina, went 1 for 4 with a double in his Vermont debut. Starter Michael Murray allowed 2 runs in 2 innings of work, while 23-year-old Cuban LHP Yorlenis Noa threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief. 21-year-old Dominican RHP Jose Mora tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win, and 24-year-old Dominican RHP Jeferson Mejia got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 2nd save for the Lake Monsters.
