Designated hitter Edwin Diaz helped the Hounds notch a one-run win on Monday. Diaz doubled in a run in the 2nd inning and then hit a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the 6th to break a 3-3 tie and provide the margin of victory for Midland on Monday. Starter Daulton Jefferies allowed 1 run in 3 innings of work, while his tandem-pitching partner, RHP Grant Holmes, gave up 2 runs over 4 frames to pick up the win, and LHP Zack Erwin tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to record his 4th save for the RockHounds.

Stockton suffered its sixth loss in its last seven games on Monday. A’s LHP Sean Manaea threw 2 1/3 innings in his first rehab start for Stockton and ended up taking the loss. He was charged with 6 runs, 4 earned, on 7 hits while walking none, striking out a pair and uncorking a wild pitch. He threw 43 pitches, 32 for strikes, and Ports play-by-play man Zack Bayrouty reported that Manaea’s fastball was sitting at 89-90 mph. RHP Brady Feigl took over for Manaea with one out in the top of the 3rd inning and allowed 3 runs over 4 2/3 frames for Stockton. Second baseman Ryan Gridley reached base 3 times, on a single, a double and a walk, while also driving in a run, and first baseman Jonah Bride had a pair of hits, including a double, and drove in a pair for the Ports.

Beloit had a rare offensive outburst, putting 11 runs on the board to best Wisconsin on Monday. First baseman Nick Ward led the attack with 5 hits, including a double, while driving in 2 runs and scoring 3 times for the Snappers. Catcher John Jones also collected 5 hits and drove in a run, while third baseman Cobie Vance had 4 hits and drove in a pair, and left fielder Anthony Churlin singled, homered and drove in 4 runs for Beloit. Starter Joe DeMers allowed 2 runs in 5 innings of work to pick up the win, while RHP Chase Cohen was outstanding in relief, throwing 4 scoreless and hitless frames to earn the save for the Snappers.

The Lake Monsters were shut out on just three hits to suffer their ninth loss in their last ten games on Monday. This year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Tyler Baum, made the start and allowed 1 run in 3 innings of work to take the loss. Last year’s 3rd-round draft pick, LHP Hogan Harris, was outstanding in relief, throwing 4 scoreless and hitless frames for Vermont. Catcher Kyle McCann, third baseman Michael Woodworth, and designated hitter Jordan Diaz each singled for the Lake Monsters in the loss.
