RHP Brian Howard turned in his third straight quality start to help the Hounds with their sixth straight on Tuesday. The 24-year-old allowed just 1 run over 7 innings of work to earn his team-leading 7th win, and Howard has now given up just 3 runs while striking out 19 in 20 1/3 innings over his last 3 starts for the RockHounds. RHP Seth Martinez pitched a perfect 8th in his Midland debut, while RHP Trey Cochran-Gill got the final three outs in the 9th. Third baseman Mikey White singled in a run, walked and stole a base, while designated hitter Tyler Ramirez singled, walked and scored a pair of runs for the RockHounds.

Las Vegas notched its third straight one-run victory on Tuesday. First baseman Seth Brown singled, doubled, tripled, drew a walk, stole a base and scored 3 runs, while catcher Beau Taylor tripled, doubled and drove in a pair in his return to Las Vegas. Right fielder Mark Payton singled and slugged a two-run homer, while second baseman Corban Joseph walked and homered, and shortstop Jorge Mateo tagged a two-run homer for the Aviators. Starter Jesus Luzardo allowed 1 run on just 2 hits while walking none and striking out 5 over 4 frames before exiting early with a possible lat injury. RHP Trey McNutt permitted 1 run in 1 1/3 innings of relief and picked up the win, while RHP Ben Bracewell notched the save despite giving up 2 runs in the top of the 9th for Las Vegas.

But LHP Jared Poche surrendered 7 runs in 2 1/3 innings of work to suffer his 6th loss, and RHP Eric Marinez tossed a scoreless 8th in his Ports debut on Tuesday. Center fielder Jameson Hannah singled, doubled twice, drove in a run and scored twice, while first baseman Alfonso Rivas had 3 hits, including a double, and drove in a pair. Second baseman Trace Loehr doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run, and third baseman Jonah Bride had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the Ports.

His tandem-pitching partner, RHP Bryce Conley, gave up 2 runs over 5 innings of work for Beloit. Left fielder Logan Farrar singled twice for the Snappers in the loss. Meanwhile, Vermont LHP Josh Reagan was reassigned to the Snappers on Tuesday.

This year’s 2nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Tyler Baum, made the start and allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work to take the loss, while 21-year-old Dominican RHP Richard Jose Morban threw 5 scoreless frames for Vermont. Right fielder Nick Osborne singled twice to provide the Lake Monsters’ only hits in the loss. Meanwhile, Vermont LHP Josh Reagan was reassigned to the Snappers on Tuesday.

Rehabbing RHP Bryce Nightengale made the start and allowed 1 run in 2 innings of work, while 21-year-old Dominican LHP Livan Sanchez gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in 3 1/3 innings of relief to take the loss. This year’s 27th-round draft pick for the A’s, third baseman Gavin Jones, reached base 4 times, singling twice and walking twice while also driving in a run. 19-year-old Mexican catcher Hansen Lopez tripled, walked twice and scored a run, while 21-year-old Venezuelan second baseman Wilson Alvarez and 17-year-old Colombian center fielder Brayan Buelvas each had 3 hits and drove in a run for the A’s.

Last year’s 19th-round draft pick for the A’s, catcher Matt Cross, tripled, drew 3 walks and drove in a pair of runs, while 21-year-old Italian designated hitter Cesarre Astorri had 2 hits, including a double, and drew a pair of walks. This year’s 32nd-round draft pick, third baseman Marty Bechina doubled and drew 3 walks, while first baseman Gio Dingcong singled twice and walked twice, and 20-year-old Dominican right fielder Christopher Quintin singled, tripled and drove in a pair for the A’s. 19-year-old Cuban RHP Pedro Santos made the start and gave up 2 runs in 2 1/3 innings of work, while RHP Brock Whittlesey picked up the win despite allowing 1 unearned run in 1 2/3 innings of relief on Tuesday.
