A big five-run 2nd inning led Las Vegas to victory over Salt Lake in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader. First baseman Eric Campbell had a pair of doubles, including an RBI double in the 2nd, and drew a walk in the game. Campbell would go on to collect 2 more hits, including his third double of the day, in Saturday’s second game, and he ended the day boasting a .417 on-base percentage and a .520 slugging percentage for the Aviators. Shortstop Jorge Mateo had 2 hits, drew a walk and drove in a pair, while designated hitter Corban Joseph singled, walked twice and scored twice. Second baseman Franklin Barreto collected a pair of hits, including a double, while center fielder Dustin Fowler singled twice and drove in a run, and left fielder Nick Martini walked and singled in a run in his sixth rehab game with the Aviators. Las Vegas suffered the loss in Saturday’s second game to split its doubleheader with Salt Lake. LHP Tyler Alexander allowed 4 runs over 4 frames to take the loss for Las Vegas. Designated hitter Eric Campbell collected a pair of hits, including his third double of the day, while center fielder Skye Bolt singled twice and stole a base, and catcher Cameron Rupp, who signed a minor league deal with the A’s and was added to the Aviators roster earlier in the day, doubled and scored a run for Las Vegas in the loss.

RHP Matt Milburn struggled through a rough start for the RockHounds, surrendering 9 runs on 12 hits over 5 frames to suffer his 3rd loss on Saturday. Shortstop Edwin Diaz slugged a three-homer in the 7th inning to lift his team-leading extra-base-hit total to 18, while second baseman Nate Mondou doubled in a run, walked twice and scored twice. First baseman Luke Persico singled twice and walked, while center fielder Luis Barrera belted a pair of doubles, and designated hitter Dairon Blanco singled, doubled and drove in a run for the RockHounds. Meanwhile, catcher Collin Theroux was reassigned to the RockHounds from Las Vegas on Saturday.

The Snappers suffered a one-run loss to the Cougars on Saturday. Last year’s 22nd-round draft pick for the A’s, RHP Aiden McIntyre, turned in his third straight strong start for the Snappers, allowing just 1 run and striking out 9 over 5 frames, but his tandem-pitching partner, RHP Adam Reuss, gave up 2 runs in 4 innings of work to take the loss. Third baseman Cobie Vance had a pair of hits, including a double, while center fielder Devin Foyle singled twice. Second baseman Joseph Pena doubled and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, while catcher Skyler Weber singled and stole a base, and first baseman Max Schuemann, who was assigned to the Snappers from extended spring training on Saturday, went 1 for 3 in his Beloit debut.
