Bryce Conley threw 6 hitless and scoreless innings in a start for the Snappers last April, and he threw 6 hitless and scoreless innings for the Snappers again on Saturday. Conley walked 2 and struck out 4 on the way to earning his 1st win of the season, and in the process, the 24-year-old lowered his ERA to 3.54. 20-year-old Venezuelan RHP Angello Infante allowed 1 run in 3 innings of relief to secure his 1st save for the Snappers. Designated hitter Payton Squier collected 3 hits, including a double, while 20-year-old Cuban center fielder Lester Madden had a pair of hits, drew a walk and drove in a run. Second baseman Nick Ward singled twice and walked, and first baseman Noah Vaughan tripled for the second straight night and drove in a pair of runs to help the Snappers snap their five-game losing streak on Saturday.

Las Vegas notched its fourth victory in its last five games on Saturday. Second baseman Corban Joseph collected 3 hits, including a double, to raise his team-best batting average to .385. Joseph also drove in a run in the 1st inning to give the Aviators an early lead, while left fielder Skye Bolt singled twice and drove in a pair of runs, and first baseman Mark Canha went 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts in his second rehab game with Las Vegas. Starter Tyler Alexander allowed 1 run over 5 frames to earn to win, while RHP Ben Bracewell threw 3 scoreless innings in relief, and RHP Brian Schlitter got the final three outs in the 9th to notch his 6th save for Las Vegas. And with Aviators RHP Edwin Jackson dealt to Toronto on Saturday and Las Vegas RHP Daniel Mengden expected to start for the A’s on Sunday, RockHounds RHP Parker Dunshee is set to join the Aviators this weekend.

RockHounds RHP Logan Verrett turned in a strong start on Saturday, allowing 2 runs on just 4 hits while walking none and striking out 8 over 7 innings of work to earn the win for Midland. Second baseman Nate Mondou homered, doubled and drove in 3 runs, while left fielder Chase Calabuig singled twice, stole a base and drove in a run. Catcher Jonah Heim drew a walk and doubled in a run, and third baseman Mikey White had a pair of hits and drove in a run for the RockHounds.

Stockton suffered its fifth straight loss on Saturday. Starter Kyle Friedrichs permitted just 1 run over 4 frames, while RHP Jesus Zambrano was outstanding in relief, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 5 over 3 scoreless innings, but RHP Seth Martinez gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th to take the loss for Stockton. For the second straight game, second baseman Nick Allen tripled and doubled, increasing his team-best extra-base-hit total to 20, while shortstop Jeremy Eierman tripled in a run, and right fielder Mickey McDonald singled, walked twice and stole a base for Stockton. In other news, pitching prospect James Kaprielian is set to join the Ports pitching staff from extended spring training this week.

Any updates/info on Luzardo’s rehab/progress? Will we see him with the big club this year?
He’s been throwing long toss in Arizona. He probably won’t start pitching with a minor league team before late June if all goes well. After that, it just depends on how he performs and if he stays healthy.
