Stockton broke out the big bats to win its sixth straight on Wednesday. Center fielder Austin Beck led the way by belting a pair of home runs in his first two at-bats of the night. The 20-yer-old slugged a solo shot in the bottom of the 1st inning to put Stockton on the board and then drilled a two-run drive in the 3rd, and he now has 4 home runs on the season, which is double his home run total from last year. Designated hitter Lazaro Armenteros singled and slugged his team-leading 6th home run, while shortstop Jeremy Eierman collected 3 hits, including his 2nd home run of the season, stole a base and drove in 4 runs. Starter Mitchell Jordan turned in another strong start for Stockton, allowing 2 runs and striking out 10 over 6 innings of work to pick up his 3rd win for the Ports.

Las Vegas was shut out on 3 hits to suffer its seventh loss in its last eight games on Wednesday. RHP Daniel Mengden delivered another strong start, allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits over 6 innings of work, but he still ended up being saddled with his 2nd loss for Las Vegas. Catcher Beau Taylor, right fielder Seth Brown and designated hitter Corban Joseph all singled in the loss, while A’s first baseman Matt Olson went 0 for 3 with a walk in his first rehab game with the Aviators. Left fielder Skye Bolt left the game in the 5th inning, and A’s Farm has learned that Bolt will be joining the A’s for the start of their series in Pittsburgh on Friday. A’s Farm has also learned that RHP Ryan Dull is set to be optioned back to Las Vegas on Thursday. In other news, catcher Sean Murphy landed on the 7-day injured list with a sprained knee, and catcher Robert Mullen took his place on the roster. Meanwhile, RHP Edwin Jackson is set to make his first start for Las Vegas against Fresno on Friday.

Starter Daulton Jefferies made his debut with Midland and allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 3 innings of work, while RHP Trey Cochran-Gill gave up 2 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief to suffer the loss. Midland managed just 5 hits in the loss. Right fielder Payton Squier collected 3 hits and scored twice, and second baseman Ryan Gridley singled, doubled and drove in a pair for the Snappers.
