RHP Paul Blackburn turned in an outstanding start to help Las Vegas snap its five-game losing streak on Monday. Blackburn allowed just 3 hits without walking a batter over 6 scoreless innings to earn his 3rd victory for Vegas. RHP Norge Ruiz, who was promoted from the RockHounds earlier in the day, was charged with 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings of relief, while RHP Brian Schlitter got the final four outs for Las Vegas to secure his 4th save. First baseman Seth Brown belted a two-run homer and tripled in a run, while shortstop Franklin Barreto singled, walked, stole a base and scored a run for Vegas in the victory. And with Mark Canha landing on the injured list for Oakland, LHP Ryan Buchter was recalled by the A’s on Monday. Meanwhile, RHP Edwin Jackson, who made his first start of the season for Stockton on Sunday, was reassigned to the Aviators and is set to make his first start for Las Vegas later in the week against Fresno.

The RockHounds registered their third win in their last four games on Monday. Right fielder Chase Calabuig continued his hot hitting, collecting 4 hits, including a double, while driving in 3 runs for the RockHounds. Left fielder Dairon Blanco tripled, doubled and drove in a run, while catcher Collin Theroux singled, doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run. First baseman Luke Persico had a pair of hits, including a double, stole a base and scored twice, and shortstop Kevin Merrell singled, doubled and drove in 4 runs for the RockHounds. Starter Logan Verrett threw 4 shutout frames, while RHP Trey McNutt tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief to record the win for Midland. And with RockHounds RHP Norge Ruiz reassigned to Las Vegas on Monday, Stockton RHP Daulton Jefferies is set to join Midland on Tuesday.

Stockton came back to win its fourth straight on Monday. With two on, two outs and Stockton down by a run in the bottom of the 6th inning, first baseman Alfonso Rivas ripped a three-run homer to provide the margin of victory for the Ports. Rivas also singled, walked and stole a base in the game, while center fielder Austin Beck matched his home run total from last season by slugging his 2nd home run for Stockton. Right fielder Mickey McDonald had 2 hits, including a triple, drew a walk and drove in 3 runs, and left fielder Lazaro Armenteros singled, doubled, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored twice for Stockton. Starter Xavier Altamirano gave up 5 runs over 5 frames, and RHP Nick Highberger picked up the win despite allowing his first run of the season while pitching 2 innings in relief. Meanwhile, Ports pitcher Jared Poche landed on the injured list on Monday, and RHPs Kyle Friedrichs and Jake Bray are set to join Stockton on Tuesday.
